JUNE 11-12: Surf’s
up – it’s WORLD OCEAN WEEKEND. Catch a subway
to the New York Aquarium and check out the Sea Lion demonstration,
chat up the Beluga Whale trainers, and pay your respects
to all the other inhabitants of the largest inhabitable
part of the Earth.
JUNE 18-19: Take Dad to the BRONX ZOO,
and you’ll look civilized in comparison. There will
be special animal care demonstrations all day for kids
and their dads.
JUNE 19: Or maybe Dad is
more of a seafarin’ guy? Head to Father's Day at
the New York Aquarium and learn about dads in the ocean,
make a seahorse themed craft (last-minute gift alert!),
or join in one of the other special activities planned
for this weekend.
JUNE 21, 5-9 PM: It’s
the SUMMER SOLSTICE and the people at the Socrates Sculpture
Park in Queens are ready to celebrate. Come make some
solstice-inspired art to the rhythm of the live music,
get your face painted and generally enjoy the longest
